The estimator uses a typical industry pricing formula:
monthly_price = base_per_equipment × tier_multiplier × warranty_multiplier × region_multiplier × age_factor
Where:
- base_per_equipment reflects category complexity (CBCT €280 base, autoclave €80, ultrasonic €50)
- tier_multiplier: Bronze 1.0x, Silver 1.35x, Gold 1.75x
- warranty_multiplier: 0.7x when concurrent with active OEM warranty, 1.0x when expired
- region_multiplier: typical labor-cost adjustments by region
- age_factor: increases ~3% per year of equipment age beyond year 5 (older = more parts)

Pricing pitfalls to avoid
- Discounting too aggressively in year 1. Year 1 is your only chance to set the anchor price. Customers don't renegotiate down — they switch.
- Pricing per technician hour instead of per machine. Hour-based pricing surfaces every minute of inefficiency to the customer.
- Bundling too many units at one flat rate. If a customer has 3 autoclaves at €100/mo each, replacing one and dropping to 2 units is a 33% revenue hit.
- Not pricing in parts inflation. Bake in 3-5%/year escalation clause, especially Gold tier.
- Forgetting calibration certificate value. For CBCT and X-ray, the BSS Directive documentation alone is worth €600-€1,200/year. Make sure it's priced in.
